The Board of Directors:
Thordur Magnusson
Mr Magnusson is the Chairman of the Board. Thordur is the Chairman and principal shareholder of the investment company Eyrir, founded in 2000. Thordur holds a seat on the boards of a number of Icelandic companies, including the retail companies Byko and Kaupas. Thordur was CFO at Eimskip for over 20 years.
Dr Jon Agust Thorsteinsson
Dr Thorsteinsson earned his Ph.D. at the Institute of Energy Technology at Aalborg University, specializing in process integration. Dr Jon Agust Thorsteinsson has been serving as Chairman for the organization of Technical Seed Companies in Iceland since 2004. Dr Thorsteinsson is a co-founder of Marorka and is the company's President and Chief Executive Officer.
Finnur Arnason
Mr Arnason holds a Fil.Cand. degree in Business Administration from the University of Gothenburg. Since 1999 Finnur has been an Investment Manager at the New Business Venture Fund, and participated in a number of projects as a board member.
Gudjon Jonsson
Mr Jonsson is a specialist in environmental management and has been a member of different governmental committees in the environmental field. He has extensive experience of Nordic cooperation research projects. Mr Jonsson is one of the owners and board members of VSO Consulting, which was a co-founder of Marorka.
Magnus Gustafsson
From 1984 to July 2005 Mr Gustafsson was the President and CEO of Coldwater Seafood Corporation, now Icelandic USA Inc. In November 2005 he became the Consul General of Iceland in New York. Mr Gustafsson has been active in associations related to the seafood industry such as the National Fisheries Institute (NFI), in addition to serving as President of the Icelandic American Chamber of Commerce.
Stefan Petur Eggertsson
Mr Eggertsson has been a member of the Board of Directors since the company was started. He was one of the majority shareholders and Managing Director/CEO for VSO Consulting until 2005. He has proven experience in starting and developing technology and consulting companies.
Asthildur Margret Otharsdottir
Ms Otharsdottir became a Board Member in 2010. She is an independent consultant with extensive prior work and business experience as a Director of Treasury and Corporate Development at Össur hf. (2006-2010), Senior Account Manager at Kaupthing Bank hf., now Arion bank (2004-2006), and Consultant at Accenture (1996-2000). Currently, she does not sit on the Board of Directors of any other company. She has an MBA degree from Rotterdam School of Management, The Netherlands, and a Cand. Oecon. degree from University of Iceland.
