Marorka nominated for the Nordic Council’;s Nature and Environment Prize 2008

Marorka is one of the companies that have been nominated for the Nordic Council Nature and Environment Prize 2008. A total of 37 candidates are competing for the award. Most of the candidates are from Sweden, as many as sixteen, nine come from Finland, seven from Denmark, three from Norway and one from Iceland.

The theme for the Nature and Environment Prize 2008 is to lower energy consumption with better tools. The prize will be awarded to a Nordic product, invention or service that helps to reduce people’;s energy consumption. The product, invention or service must be potentially applicable to all of the Nordic countries and make a significant impact. It can be anything from a single object to a major system.

A handful of the candidates will go forward this autumn to the second round of the competition. The finalists will be announced in August or September and the adjudication committee will choose the winner at its meeting in Sweden on 8 October. The prizewinner will be announced at a press conference on the same day and the actual prize will be presented during the Nordic Council Session in Helsinki at the end of October.
